The Asagaya Tanabata festival, held mainly in Asagaya' s Pearl Center shopping street, is one of t he most famous Tanabata festivals in contemporary Tokyo. Asagaya is also a town that holds fond memories for the artist, who had a studio nearby when he created this work.

現代の東京で最も有名な七夕祭の一つです。阿佐ヶ谷は、本作品を制作当時、作家が近くにアトリエを構えていた、思い出の街でもあります。
